Notable PDP-10 users

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think I'd rather restrict this category to places which did notable work with PDP-10's, and not include everyone who had a -10 in a back closet somewhere. That's because it will be easier to see the places that did something important with -10's if we leave out every hole-in-the-wall place that had one. (So maybe I should have called it Category:Important PDP-10 Users, but I dislike long category names!)

E.g. Symbolics; I thought about adding them - they did have that Foonly (I remember seeing it at their first location, down on Vassar Street), but I'm not even sure it made the move to SCRC, once the SCRC was built - but I'm not sure they did anything significant with it (maybe they ran SUDS on it, and used that to design the first generation of 3600's - although maybe I'm wrong, and they did do something major, with it), so I didn't add them. SRI did important work with their -10 - it was one of the first two or three Internet servers ever - which is why they made the grade. CompuServe and Tymshare grew into significant businesses using -10's. Etc, etc... Jnc (talk) 12:04, 10 January 2024 (CET)
