Disk types

If this was AI's main disk controller, it probably ought to say 'xxx-type'drives; AI had the dual-high Calchomps (I don't remember the exact model number; they were the common ones from that era). Jnc (talk) 14:42, 8 July 2019 (CEST)

Thanks, I'm working on a software simulation and just found some more information. I think they were Calcomp 215's. The code talks about previous Memorex drives with half the capacity. There is inactive code to map those to the upper or lower half of a Calcomp. Larsbrinkhoff (talk) 16:00, 8 July 2019 (CEST)
Yeah, 'Calcomp 215' rings a bell. Jnc (talk) 13:13, 9 July 2019 (CEST)
I'm trying to boot (AI) ITS 724 from 1972. It expects to use the smaller packs, so I believe we a lower bound in time for the introduction of Calcomps to AI. Larsbrinkhoff (talk) 12:23, 9 July 2019 (CEST)
