Help to formulate wanted

From time to time I recognize I'm not a native speaker - I'm not content with my formulation (here : sentence about the bus request) and do not know how to do better. Can you help? Vaxorcist (talk) 14:13, 23 February 2024 (CET)

I'll take a look...
My first reaction is that my original version missed a lesser, but important job of the plug - to connect the request circuitry to the correct BR line. So, by swapping the plug, one did two things: i) attached the device to the requested BR line, and ii) inserted the device in the correct grant line, to match the request line. So, the plug approach ensured that one could not get a mismatch between the two.
I'll update this page once I get rid of all the windows I have open, to early British computer sites! :-) Jnc (talk) 15:20, 23 February 2024 (CET)
