The term video display does not have a strict, widely-accepted definition, but it generally refers to displays which can display images (which is now, of course, essentially all of them); and it sometime refers to those which accept an analog video input signal, or whose interface to the rest of the system of which they are a part is such a signal.

The signal may be either a raster type, or something else (e.g. the direct addressing often`produced by vector graphics systems).
