The page name is singular ('number') and not the more natural plural ('numbers') because it is easy to link from a plural form, one only has to add an 's' outside the link - '<nowiki>[[DEC part number]]s</nowiki>' - and Mediawiki does the Right Thing, viz. [[DEC part number]]s. Linking to a plural name from a singular is harder, one would have to do '<nowiki>[[DEC part numbers|DEC part number]]</nowiki>', which is clunky.
