So what's the correct spelling? Both ''Dealers of Lightning'' and ''Fumbling the Future'' use 'MAXC', but I note that [https://github.com/PDP-10/maxc/blob/master/pdf/the_maxc_systems.pdf The Maxc Systems] and [http://www.bitsavers.org/pdf/xerox/maxc/MAXC_Operations_May74.pdf Maxc Operations] - both written by insiders - use 'Maxc'. Directories that remain after Maxc1 is gone will become Maxc2 directories only.''" So it seems that people there considered 'Maxc' as the canonical spelling. When those are added to the 'The Maxc Systems' (a fairly formal publication), I am inclined to say that we should adopt that spelling.
