<p>Sort of stubby</p> <p><b>New page</b></p><div>The '''UNIX Support Group''' (usually given as '''USG''') was set up by [[Bell Labs]] in September, 1973, after it eventually determined that [[UNIX]] was the best [[operating system]] for the increasingly popular [[PDP-11]]. It decided to fund a small team to support UNIX for use within Bell Labs, something that the system's creators in the Research group were not really in a position to do.
