The '''Xerox 860 Information Processing System''' (usually referred to as the '''Xerox 860 IPs''') was a very early [[workstation]] from [[Xerox]].

It came with custom software from Xerox, including a [[What You See Is What You Get|WYSIWYG]] [[screen editor]], but [[CP/M]], and [[application]]s which ran under it, were also available.

The [[Central Processing Unit|CPU]] was an [[Intel 8085]]. The 860 came standard with 96KB of [[main memory]]; it could optionally be increased to 128KB. It came with a [[cathode ray tube|CRT]] [[video display]], which could display up to 70 lines, of 102 characters each. [[Secondary storage]] was two 8" [[floppy disk]] [[disk#Low-cost disks|drives]]. A Diablo [[printer]] could be shared between several 860's. [[Ethernet]] was also supported.
