Httpd

httpd is the NCSA web server. The source can still be located here. Apache grew out of httpd, as a series of patches to httpd, much the same way that NetBSD/FreeBSD grew out of 386BSD.

The other 'half' of the NCSA web server, was Mosaic the web browser.
