The Motorola MC68010 was the second member of the Motorola M68000 Family of VLSI microprocessors. One packaging was pin-compatible with the earlier Motorola MC68000; the only major difference with the MC68000 was that it fixed the MC68000's major failing, that it could not support virtual memory. It also made minor changes to the instruction set to make it possible to support virtualization.
