Correct spelling?

So what's the correct spelling? Both Dealers of Lightning and Fumbling the Future use 'MAXC', but I note that The Maxc Systems and Maxc Operations - both written by insiders - use 'Maxc'. I think I'd go with the insiders (shades of 'Internet' vs. 'internet'). Jnc (talk) 17:53, 21 October 2021 (CEST)

Two other documents on Bitsavers say "MAXC". I have no perference. Larsbrinkhoff (talk) 18:45, 21 October 2021 (CEST)

Two more data points. First, Butler's opinion of "There is no official spelling. I don't like the shouty capitals personally, so I spell it Maxc, but that is just personal preference." Second, while looking to see if the ucode was online in the Alto repository (I had hopes, since that sees to contain an immense amount of stuff from a full dump of the PARC fileservers, but it has apparently been fairly thoroughly curated), I found an email log containing a message from Ron Weaver (date: 12 Jan. 1981 1:50 pm PST) which includes "As you know Maxc1 will be departing soon. Directories that remain after Maxc1 is gone will become Maxc2 directories only." So it seems that people there considered 'Maxc' as the canonical spelling. When those are added to the 'The Maxc Systems' (a fairly formal publication), I am inclined to say that we should adopt that spelling. Jnc (talk) 17:12, 25 October 2021 (CEST)

Ok, fine with me! Larsbrinkhoff (talk) 18:42, 25 October 2021 (CEST)
