CHAOS support
Was that something that was in the standard 'distro' (not that the term existed back then, but the concept sorta did), or was it just a local hack that one or maybe only a few installations ran? (I don't think V8 really ran any place outside of Bell Labs 'back in the day' anyway?) I'm guessing it was probably added to talk to somebody's Lisp Machine, back before they added TCP/IP support to the Lisp Machine? Again, TUHS could help? Jnc (talk) 09:57, 24 August 2021 (CEST)
- I don't know really. There is one copy of V8 in the TUHS archive, and that has Chaosnet. But it could well be that it's someone's personal copy and not all other V8 installations had Chaosnet.
- I brought it up on the TUHS mailing list, but only vague memories of a Lisp machine somewhere were brought forward. Larsbrinkhoff (talk) 10:36, 24 August 2021 (CEST)
