The Motorola MC68012 was a variant of the second member of the Motorola M68000 Family of VLSI microprocessors, the Motorola MC68010. Other than an extended address bus, and a pin to help with multi-processor systems, it was identical to the MC68010.
To provide the extra pins needed, the MC68012 was only available in a Pin Grid Array package.
