A digital-to-analog converter (often referred to using the shorter abbreviations, d-to-a converter, DAC, or D/A) is a device (usually attached to a computer as a peripheral) which takes a digital signal and outputs its amplitude (usually the voltage) and in analog form. It can thus convert digital data to analog data.
