RTS/8 is a compact real-time operating system designed for the PDP-8 family of processors (except the PDP-8/S). This system allows up to 63 tasks to run concurrently and compete for resources on a fixed priority basis. It can be used for a wide range of applications in which a number of processes must be monitored and controlled. As with other real-time systems, RTS/8 responds to physical or conceptual events to permit the timely execution and scheduling of tasks.
