Thomas H. "Tommy" Flowers was a British engineer who conceived of, and led the team which built, the Colossus digital electronic computing device specialized for code-breaking. Flowers had previously worked on electronic telephone exchange switches for the British Post Office (who were responsible for the telephone system in the UK).
