Personal memory of the start
I have a fairly clear memory of sitting in room 906 at Tech Sq, watching over Dave Moon's shoulder, as he tried to boot the first CADR machine for the first time, late one night (probably in 1978, shortly after I started at Tech Sq, in 1977). The machine itself was in 904 (next door; it might have been 906+907, but it was definitely one of those two pairs), along with (IIRC) the only CONS, and CHEOPS (RG's chess machine). Amazing memory.
