Correction/correcting

I didn't bother to check before writing this, but now that I do, Web search shows that 'Correction' is more common (~240M hits) than 'Correcting' (~43M hits). I wonder if either is 'technically' 'correct'? Jnc (talk) 18:09, 21 August 2022 (CEST)

I think it is "Correction", because the name describes the process ("What does it do?"), and DEC used it that way. Vaxorcist (talk) 16:44, 22 August 2022 (CEST)
FWIW, Wikipedia uses 'Correction' too. I wonder why I used 'Correcting'? Ah, I see, DEC11-HRJPA-B-D uses 'Correcting' (1.5.3); so that's probably the form I saw initially. Jnc (talk) 21:38, 22 August 2022 (CEST)
There is more than one example where DEC was not consistent ... Vaxorcist (talk) 22:05, 22 August 2022 (CEST)
