Need a new top-level cat for this

This doesn't really belong in Category:History, but I don't see a better top-level category (the current ones are listed at the top of the Main Page, and also algorithmically - i.e. the previous list was done by hand, but this one cannot have missed any - in Special:UncategorizedCategories) for it. Then again, Category:Research Organizations only sort of belongs in Category:History.

Ideally, we could come up with a new top-level category into which this and Category:Companies would go - to prevent expanding the nice compact list at the top of the Main Page. Maybe Category:Organizations? Then this, Category:Research Organizations, and Category:Companies could all go in it, and it could take over the Category:Companies slot on the Main Page list?

What do people think? Jnc (talk) 14:48, 27 December 2023 (CET)

I guess it's not that big a change - a new super-cat is easy to put in, without making a lot of changes that would only be un-doable or adjustable with a lot of pain. Only Category:Companies, Category:Research Organizations and Category:Professional Bodies would have to be edited, along with Main Page. Jnc (talk) 01:36, 28 December 2023 (CET)
