Too CRT-based?

The description seems, to me, overly focused on electron beams: "horizontal lines", "scanning across the screen", etc. I would consider raster displays also many other technologies like LCD, plasma, ePaper, etc that arrange pixels in a regular grid. (I might even include honeycomb tiling if there were such things.) Larsbrinkhoff (talk) 09:13, 16 September 2021 (CEST)

Well, the dictionary does say "a rectangular pattern of parallel scanning lines followed by the electron beam". ;-) I can re-cast it to say something like 'a rectangular array of lines of output on a display', and go on to say that it originated on CRT displays, which operated in this manner? Thanks, I think that would be an improvement. Larsbrinkhoff (talk) 20:20, 18 September 2021 (CEST)
