Interactive Application System
From Computer History Wiki
The Interactive Application System (usually referred to with the acronym, IAS) was an operating system from DEC for the PDP-11. It could be generated to produce three different types of systems:
- time-sharing
- multi-user (similar to the above, but does not "offer the protection facilities of [the] timesharing system")
- real-time
It was based on RSX-11D, and initially produced for the then-planned PDP-11/70. It was the first system to support Digital Command Language (DCL).
