Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems

Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems (usually given as the acronym, MITS) was the company in Albuquerque, New Mexico, founded by Ed Roberts and Forrest Mims in December, 1969, which produced the Altair 8800, the first mass-produced personal computer to be openly available (introduced in January, 1975, as a kit).
