Bus bar

A bus bar is a stiff metallic conductive member of considerable cross-section, used to carry high currents; they are often found in power supplies and similar applications, where large currrents are used. Connections to them are usually made by mechanical means, such as bolts; they are usually not coated with an insulating layer.
