BA40 (on the bottom)

The BA40A Expansion Adapter is an optional attachment for the MicroVAX 2000/VAXstation 2000 system unit that permits communication between the expansion box and the system unit.

The Expansion Adapter contains two connectors: A and B. Those letters are stamped on the Expansion Adapter to identify the connectors. A is the connector for the TK50Z-F Tape Expansion Box. B is the connector for an expansion box containing a fixed disk drive, e.g. the RD53-F/RD54-F Disk Expansion Box.

A third opening C (rightmost) is provided for the connector of one of the mutually exclusive options:

The Expansion Adapter is connected to the MicroVAX 2000/VAXstation 2000 system unit by one or more flat cables through corresponding rectangular openings at the bottom of the MicroVAX 2000/VAXstation 2000 system unit and at the top of the Expansion Adapter.
