The DMF32 is "three UNIBUS controllers in one module":

  • a controller with eight asynchronous serial interfaces (thereof two with modem control and split speed)
  • a controller with a synchronous serial interface, e.g. for DDMCP
  • a controller with a parallel interface (DR11-C compatible) alternatively usable as a printer interface

It covers all kinds of communication (except for Ethernet) in only one Unibus slot.

The DMF32 was introduced with VMS V3.0, and it is supported on VAX computers only.
