The MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (usually given as the acronym, CSAIL) is the main computer science research organization at MIT.

It is in some sense the product of history going full circle; just as MIT's Project MAC split into the MIT Artificial Intelligence Laboratory and the MIT Laboratory for Computer Science, starting in 1970, CSAIL is the result of the two entities re-unifying.
