The description seems, to me, overly focused on electron beams: "horizontal lines", "scanning across the screen", etc. I would consider raster displays also many other technologies like LCD, plasma, ePaper, etc that arrange pixels in a regular grid. (I might even include honeycomb tiling if there were such things.)
