:While in general I agree about Wikipedia's ideas about readability, my personal opinion is that the correct way to capitalize retro names is the way their various vendors did back then. E.g. the NORD-1 computer was named that way, so I grumbled a lot when Wikipedia changed that to Nord-1. SYSVr3 was written SYSV3r when new, wasn't it? One reason I prefer other wikis than Wikipedia these days is that we're not so strict about their rules.. Capitalization problems
Wikipedia Manual of Style: Capitalization
I recognize on this page the need to make it a bit less shouty.
For this page/wiki I would like to only capitolize acronyms: i.e.
Unix is not an acronym but a trademark. Sys V is a version, and by convention is represented by a roman numeral, and AT&T must remain AT&T.

- I'm going to agree with that; let's be historically accurate.
- There are some issues, though; e.g. Bell initially spelled UNIX as all caps (see e.g. here), and I think the trademark is that way, but later switched to 'Unix' (although some documents use a mix, see e.g. Setting Up Unix - Seventh Edition). For things which talk about a particula point in time, one can use the appropriate version (e.g. all V6-specific articles should use 'UNIX'), but for articles covering long periods of time, I'm not sure there is a good answer.
