NAME

    mesg  -  permit or deny messages

SYNOPSIS

    mesg [ n ] [ y ]

DESCRIPTION

    _M_e_s_g with argument n forbids messages via _w_r_i_t_e(1) by revok-
    ing non-user write permission on the user's terminal.  _M_e_s_g
    with argument y reinstates permission.  All by itself, _m_e_s_g
    reports the current state without changing it.
