Annals of the History of Computing
The Annals of the History of Computing (later named the IEEE Annals of the History of Computing) was/is a quarterly academic journal which covers (as the name suggests) the history of computing. It publishes researched papers, as well as primary materials (in the terminology of historians) such as interviews and personal memoirs by pioneers. It also contains material related to the field, such as news, book reviews, notices of events, and reporting thereon.
It was started early enough (1979) that it managed to garner contributions from most of the pioneers while they were still alive; as such, it is a mine of valuable primary material. It was started by the American Federation of Information Processing Societies in July 1979. In 1992 it became an IEEE publication, under the aegis of the IEEE Computer Society.
