Around the mid-eighties DEC started the Digital Classified Software (DCS) Program. This program enabled software developers to submit their software products to DEC for testing according to DEC quality standards for third party software. In DEC’s judgment, these products were easy to install and use and are well documented. DCS products were provided subject to the limited warranty on the applicable Software Product Description (SPD).
