Eckert-Mauchly Computer Corporation

The Eckert–Mauchly Computer Corporation (originally founded as a partnership, the Electronic Control Company) was an early manufacturer of computers. Started by John Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert, they were effectively what later became known as a 'spin-off' from the ENIAC project.
Among their products were the BINAC, and their planned first major product, the UNIVAC I, which came out after their acquisition.
The failing (in business terms, not technical ones) Eckert–Mauchly Computer Corporation was acquired by Remington Rand, in 1950.
