English Electric

English Electric was a large British industrial conglomerate, initially in the electrical and mechanical engineering field (principally the first). After WWII, it branched out into airplanes, locomotives, etc; it also became involved with computers, through its English Electric Computers division. In 1967, it merged with GEC, the parent company of GEC Computers.
