Les Earnest

Les Earnest (Lester Donald Earnest) was one of the founders (the founder, in his eyes) of the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (the role of John McCarthy is unclear); he was its administrative head for the entire period before it was merged into the Computer Science Department of Stanford University in 1980.
