Michigan Institute of Taxidermy

I was so tempted to make a 'Michigan Institute of Taxidermy' page! Actually, maybe I could set one up, and turn MIT into a dab? Jnc (talk) 01:55, 23 January 2023 (CET)

'Michigan Institute of Taxidermy' was an old MIT joke. Jnc (talk) 11:35, 10 January 2024 (CET)

PDP-10's

Other than the EECS TWENEX machine ("Deep Thought"), were there any other -10's at MIT outside Tech Sq? The EECS machine is the only one I can recall. Jnc (talk) 11:35, 10 January 2024 (CET)

Three more that I know of: one called BLT (brave little toaster) and/or LSD, one DEEP-THOUGHT, and another one called MIT-SPEECH. Maybe LSD was in the AI lab, judging by the Chaosnet address. Not sure! Larsbrinkhoff (talk) 12:55, 10 January 2024 (CET)
Oh, right, SPEECH, I had forgotten about that one. JTW used to take care of it, so we can ask him, if we need to know more about it; I don't think I ever saw it, but I'm pretty sure it was a KL DEC-20.
I saw BLT in the -10 serial number list, and that confused me, since I had no memory of it, and I was all over 545 at that point, so I should have seen it. I am pretty sure it was not on the 9th floor. Do you know anything about it - e.g. which floor it was on? Jnc (talk) 13:33, 10 January 2024 (CET)
