Category inclusion

Snarl. This template puts the page using it in Category: DEC VAX Systems. Caveat haquur. Jnc (talk) 19:46, 17 March 2023 (CET)

"Not any more." - Inspector Jacques Clouseau
So anytime you edit a VAXen page for a specific model, e.g. VAXstation 3100 Model 76, please check to make sure it has a 'Category: DEC VAX Systems' tag at the bottom. Pages that apply to a group of models, e.g. VAXstation 3100 series, are usually put in the more general Category:VAX. Jnc (talk) 14:34, 24 March 2023 (CET)

New Item Proposal

I think it would be useful to add the item "enclosure(s)", what do you think? Vaxorcist (talk) 19:19, 23 March 2023 (CET)

That sounds good to me. Go for it (as they say in English)!
You may have to write a number of new enclosure pages. I did most of the PDP-11 ones (e.g. the BA11 ones) but I stopped there. I see you've done the BA23, but there are a lot of other ones: BA123, etc. Jnc (talk) 20:14, 23 March 2023 (CET)
Ok, I'll do the "new" enclosure pages; but I think you are the right one for adding the new item to the template.
I've already started the BA123 one. I think I should do a BA2xx Series of Enclosures page for the BA212, BA213, BA214, BA215, BA216, and the BA220 (maybe even more?). Then there is the BA4xx Series of Enclosures as well, ...
May take a while, but the longest journey starts with the first step, doesn't it? Vaxorcist (talk) 21:56, 23 March 2023 (CET)
OK, I will do the template update right now.
I know exactly what you mean about "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step", as Laozi had it. I look back at where this was when I joined... It was only 2015, so not that long ago, but so much has been added. I'm not sure if anyone in the next generation will care about PDP-11's, but for those who do, it is all here. OK; I placed the 'Enclosure' entry in the 'Summary' section at the top of the infobox; it will be easy to change its location to wherever you want if you want to do something different.
Anyway, take a look at this one, you can see what it looks like. Here is a more complex example of the 'Enclosure' parameter. Jnc (talk) 01:34, 24 March 2023 (CET)
