UNIX V7M-11 (the official name; it is usually referred to as V7M, Unix/v7m, etc) was DEC's first official UNIX. It was an "enhanced and modified version of" UNIX V7, for PDP-11 machines.
The primary changes/enhancements in V7M were device drivers for the then-full range of DEC devices (see the "Unix/v7m Release 2.1 - Software Description", below, for a full list), support for overlays, and "significant work for hardware error recovery". "Much work was put into producing a release that would reliably bootstrap from many tape drives or disk drives".
