The VSV21 Graphic System is a single-module quad size option for the Q22 QBUS. It is a high functionality graphics control module capable of working on the following processors:

It is capable of interfacing with:

The display resolution is settable via switches on the module to one of:

  • 640 x 480
  • 640 x 240
  • 512 x 512
  • 512 x 256

The VSV21 has got operating system support from:

When the VSV21 is interfaced to the host processor via its serial interface, it can be configured to emulate a basic terminal. In this configuration the Q22 bus interface is not used, and the VSV21 can be used as the host console terminal.

The VSV21 is provided with VSV11 emulation software which enables it to run applications that have been developed for the VS11 and VSV11 systems. The VSV21 can emulate a minimum-configuration single-channel VSV11 system. The VSV11 emulation software supports the following VS11/VSV11 features:

  • QIO format, identical to the VS11
  • Main and auxiliary display lists
  • The FORTRAN Draw package
  • Joystick control

These features allow most VS11/VSV11 applications to run on the VSV21 without modification or recompilation.
